Red Balau, dark red in colour, is a very popular choice for his natural beauty and proven performance under extreme conditions, is extremely durable and very resistant to decay, insects and fungal attack, even in tropical environments, resistant to abrasion, wear and dents. Red Balau is used for boardwalks, bridges, wharves and decking and is easy to maintain. You can choose an oil finish to maintain a rich dark “Mahogany look” or leave unsealed to weather to have a silver gray patina. Red Balau might have occasionally small number of pin holes. This is common to this specie and will not effect the overall appearance.
